I was thrilled to find that my humble contribution had been included alongside those of so many famous names. Also, well done to you, for writing such a magnificent book! I have only just finished reading it and I found it very emotional . It is a glorious collection of quotations and anecdotes, which you have expertly woven into a compelling story of this man who so enriched our lives. It makes a valuable contribution to Spurs history and I am looking forward to Volume 2! I have to say that there is one thing in your book that absolutely appalled me. I was aware of the 'Knighthood for Bill' campaign and I signed one of the web petitions. However, I was stunned to read how far-reaching the campaign actually was and how many influential people endorsed it. I had no idea of all this. Yet, despite such a big effort, the people's choice never eventuated. What an indictment on those responsible. I am the proud owner of many Spurs books dating from the mid-50s and even one that was published in 1921. However, your book is by far the best of them all, due mainly to your inclusion of such a vast variety of contributions from so many players, experts, personalities and fans. In particular, you gave us 'common' supporters an equal platform with the famous and Sir Bill would have approved of that. Thanks, Steve. I'm just back from holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it while I was away. It brought back so many memories of his great teams. You showed how much he was admired and respected by everyone within football players, managers, media and supporters - and there were some great quotes from him and from the players. Some of his quotes say a great deal about the current set-up at WHL - about aiming so high that, even in failure, you succeed and that Tottenham are nothing without Europe. Hopefully we'll get back to those great times very soon. He was a very special man and brought so much success to Spurs that the Tottenham Way is so much the Bill Nicholson Way.
